Could I choose what I see while swiping?

Yes. You could put pictures first, words first, or choose a bit of both. You could also move public details such as hobbies or future plans nearer the top, while the profile owner could pin a couple of things they want you to notice. Name, age, rough area, what the person is looking for and the kind of profile would stay visible. The full profile would always be easy to open.

What if I just want a quick look?

We're considering “hotswiping”: a quick look at pictures and a few basics, with interesting profiles saved to a short-lived list for a proper look later. A swipe wouldn't send a Like or create a Hard No. Swiped-past profiles could still turn up in other searches, and a small recent-history list could let you revisit at least the last ten, if they're still available to you. Sometimes your thumb is quicker than your brain.

Could I fill in an answer without leaving the profile I'm reading?

That's the plan. If someone has shared a detail you haven't answered yourself, a small button could let you add your own answer there and then. You could skip it or keep your answer private. Sparse searches might also suggest useful optional questions. Any estimate of what an answer changes would have to be based on real results and shown without giving away anybody's private information. More answers could improve relevance; they wouldn't guarantee more matches.

Could I get the short version of a very long profile?

If you turn the option on, AI could show a labelled summary that the profile owner has approved, with highlights from their approved text. The original would stay one tap away. Changing the wording would remove the old summary until a replacement is approved; without one, you'd see the person's own words.

Would suggestions take both people's wishes into account?

They should. Living nearby or sharing a hobby wouldn't outweigh a Block or a firm boundary. An unanswered question wouldn't count as a “no.” You could use a short list of suggestions or browse more broadly, without made-up compatibility percentages or paid boosts.
