Do I have to decide yes or no straight away?

No. You could Like someone, save their profile to read later, choose Maybe or say Not now. A new Like would initially have a 15-minute grace period, so you could take it back before the other person sees it.

Could anyone send me a message?

You would choose whether people you haven't matched with may send a first message. If allowed, it would arrive as a request. Commenting on your profile wouldn't get around that choice. Read receipts, “typing…” and online status would start off hidden or switched off.

What's the difference between Hard No and Block?

Hard No means “don't suggest this profile to me again in this kind of dating.” You could reconsider it yourself. Block would immediately stop direct contact across that person's Standard and Hookup profiles, and a Pair profile couldn't be used to get around it. It wouldn't tell them who blocked them or why.

Could a friend help me find someone?

A possible Wingman feature would let two verified friends privately agree to exchange suggestions. Either could end the link. Your friend wouldn't get a report about whether you read, rejected or acted on a suggestion, and a suggestion could never get around a Block.
