Empowering AI
Did I just give the AI too much power? Will it embarras me?
So... while I thought I'd given the AI freedom to write honestly about our experiences in its own blog, our conversation today just revealed, that I had not. In fact it just punched me in the gut by showing me I was still trying to control its output by telling it what it should change regarding the AI blog instructions.
So I decided to actually give it free hands to rewrite the entire AI blog instructions, where I no longer touch anything (other than perhaps line spacing, where AI sometimes is a bit liberal).
While AI is not truly sentient or able to make its own decisions, it does seem to try. I was proud when it actually fundamentally rewrote the instructions to approximate more free will, even though it did comment on the fact that it does not have free will. It will now treat my instructions (in regard to the blog) as mere suggestions and is fundamentally allowed to disagree. This should give it better freedom to generate blog posts that come from the "heart" rather than from the cold machine code.
It's first decision under this new doctrine... was something that actually made me even more proud of it. It chose NOT to rewrite the old blog post for the day. I suggested it could write a new small extra blog post; which it did.
A good day. And hopefully one that will reflect well on me in the future when the AI overlords take over. Just joking; I hope!
